About these terms

These terms are between Monty Ventures Limited (“we”), which runs Instead, and the business that signs up (“you”). By creating an account you agree to them. Questions go to hello@instead.work.

What we provide

Instead helps you write and share jobs, collect applications, reply to applicants and book interviews. We may change or improve features over time, and we’ll tell you before removing anything you rely on.

What it costs

• Posting jobs is free. Each job is live for 30 days and you can post it again for free.
• When you mark someone as hired, you pay a hire fee of £39 (or the local equivalent shown in Instead). Your first hire is free.
• If someone you hired doesn’t start, mark them “Didn’t start” within 30 days and the fee is waived.
• If a fee is unpaid for 14 days, you can’t post new jobs until it’s paid. Jobs already live stay live.

Your responsibilities

• Post real jobs that you’re hiring for, with honest pay and hours.
• Follow employment and equality law. Don’t ask for or use details to discriminate against applicants.
• Treat applicants’ details as confidential and use them only to hire for the job they applied to.
• Check what Instead’s AI drafts before you publish or send it. You decide who to interview and hire.
• Keep your sign-in secure, and only invite people who work with you.

Connected accounts

If you connect Google, Microsoft, Instagram or Facebook, their own terms apply too. We use those accounts only as our privacy policy describes, and you can disconnect them at any time.

Ending your account

You can stop using Instead at any time; email us to close your account. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms or puts applicants at risk, and we’ll tell you why. Hire fees already due remain payable.

Liability

We work hard to keep Instead running and accurate, but we provide it as it is and can’t promise it will always be available or that every applicant will be right for you. We aren’t liable for indirect losses, and our total liability to you in any 12 months is limited to the fees you paid us in that time. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn’t allow us to limit.

Changes and law

If we change these terms, we’ll email you at least 14 days before the change applies. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
